Dr. Mary Anne Bowen - Team Lead

PSV welcomes Dr. Mary Anne Bowen, our Orlando Team Lead! Dr. Mary Anne majored in Philosophy and Ethics in her undergraduate career and later returned to Veterinary school at Ross University, completing her clinical training at the University of Florida.

How You Can Help Our Orlando Team:

Dr. Bowen has known her whole life that she wanted to serve animals in a career. It was while in veterinary school that she learned about Dr. Kwane and the incredible reach his medicine has had in the communities he serves. She followed his work and made a point of trying to find her own small ways of making herself available to those in similar need in her area. Besides having some spare kibble and a little understocked go-bag of medicine in the back of her car, she really didn’t feel well equipped or properly organized to tackle more than the occasional patient in need. She started working with Project Street Vet in the Orlando area in the beginning of 2023 and it was incredibly timely that the support we were able to provide coincided with an introduction into a couple of large tent-communities in her area.

She said that it has been incredible to walk through these communities, introducing herself, and see how open they are once they learn that she is a Veterinarian. Even if they don’t have an animal, they know where the pets are in their community and are eager to connect her to those pet parents who may benefit from her help.

This experience has validated for her the importance of the same medicine that has been her greatest privilege to offer in private practice and how conservative medicine and proper education promotes so much good. She says that each day and with each family communication you are able to empower pet parents and save an animal. Thank you for your service, Dr. Mary Anne!
