Gaviria and Catherine

Meet Gaviria, a 1-year-old Tuxedo cat that was rescued by his caring owner, Catherine. Catherine reached out to us with so much concern when she realized that Gaviria could not urinate and was yowling every time he tried to. Male cats that have urinary obstructions need to have a life-saving surgery known as a perineal urethrostomy immediately. We instructed Catherine to take Gaviria to a nearby emergency pet hospital where he received the medical attention he needed before performing the perineal urethrostomy surgery.

Catherine shared, β€œI called Project Street Vet with no options or hope of receiving medical care for Gaviria. Everyone else said no or was nonresponsive and it was a true medical emergency. Project Street Vet covered all of Gaviria's medical expenses, 11 trips to the veterinarian in all, over the course of 2 months. Surrendering Gaviria to the local animal shelter was the only choice I had, had Project Street Vet not helped him. Project Street Vet saw Gaviria from initial diagnosis to post op re-check. They never once hesitated to provide the financial support that was needed to keep Gaviria and I together and him alive. Project Street Vet saved Gaviria's life, gave him his best chance to live by providing funding for wonderful veterinarian care at an amazing animal hospital. I didn't think there was help like Project Street Vet out there. I am amazed at the lengths and cost Project Street Vet went to, to get Gaviria well. There is no way I can thank Project Street Vet for their financial support enough. I had a wonderful experience with Project Street Vet, and I believe in their work.”

Thanks to your support and donations, Gaviria is recovered and doing well after his life-saving surgery!
