Lucy and Georgianna Flowers

Lucy is an 8-year-old American Bully cared for deeply by her mom, Georgianna. When we spoke to Georgianna, we could hear how much it hurt her to know Lucy was in pain from what she thought were bad ear infections. She desperately wanted to take Lucy to the vet, but after losing a job then an apartment due to an injury a few months earlier, she could not afford the cost to do so. At 55 years old, Georgianna’s struggles make her relationship with Lucy even more important, stating, “I love my pet more than most people.” After hearing their story, the team at Project Street Vet wanted to help.

We referred Lucy and Georgianna to ABC Vet, a partner hospital of Project Street Vet. After an exam and some work-up tests, it was determined that Lucy had a small mass in one ear canal along with a double ear infection. Her Doctor recommended that the mass would need to be removed and the infections needed to be treated with the right medication.

After receiving the help, Georgianna shared, “You have relieved so much stress for me. I am grateful that there are people like you still left in this world. There is nothing worse than watching an animal you care about suffer but thanks to you she has many more bright wonderful days ahead of her!” Thanks to a grant from Grey Muzzle Organization that helps us fund treatments for senior dogs, Project Street Vet was able to help Lucy get the care she needed to help her return to her life with Georgianna.
