Tamira and Lillie

Meet Lillie, a 6-month-old Pit-mix cared for deeply by her mom Tamira. Tamira sadly found baby Lillie in a car wash dumpster when she was just a puppy, and they have been inseparable ever since.

Tamira heard about Project Street Vet through Brother Benno’s, an organization dedicated to serving homeless neighbors, the working poor, and seniors in North San Diego County.  She reached out looking for help with getting Lillie some general wellness care, including having her spayed and vaccinated.  While talking to Tamira, we could hear the incredible love she had for her best friend, stating, “She’s my best friend, my love, my everything. She saved my life, like I saved hers.”  Tamira wants Lillie to live the healthiest life possible and knows the importance of veterinary care, but access to affordable care has been a struggle. The team at Project Street Vet wanted to help.

Thanks to a partnership we have with Spay Neuter Action Project, we were able to help sponsor all the care Lillie needed to help her live a long, happy life with Tamira. After receiving the help, Tamira shared, “Thank you so much. I could not go on if Lillie was not by my side. She makes me feel like there is purpose…she’s a true lover.”

Special thanks to our Title Sponsor, Fetch Pet Insurance, for helping to support families like Lillie & Tamira!
